Even though the Akilles officially formed in late 1999, various lineup and name changes took place since their beginnings in 1994.
Based out of Gothenburg, Sweden, the inspirations of Yngwie Malmsteen formed the lineup of Frozen (guitar), Maniac (vocals), Robin (drums), Niemi (bass), and Mr. Violence (guitar) under the moniker of Nasty and Demigod before settling with Akilles. With that settled, the band eventually self-released their self-titled debut EP in April of 2000. ~ Mike DaRonco
